Target groups
In the broadest sense, the project's target group will be people benefiting from the project's results, including entrepreneurs and residents of the Just Transition Area designated in the Just Transition Territorial Plan of the Łódź Voivodeship — in particular employees of the Bełchatów energy complex who are at risk of losing their jobs as a result of the discontinuation of lignite mining at the 'Bełchatów' brown coal mine and the reduction of employment at the Bełchatów Power Plant due to a change in the economic profile of the entity (cessation of conventional energy generation). The direct beneficiary of the support will be the Applicant's enterprise. An entity classified in the SME sector, with its registered office in the Łódź Voivodeship — the city of Piotrków Trybunalski, located within the Just Transition Area.
Project goal
The project will allow the creation of a professional sampling workshop within the Applicant's enterprise, specialising in the design, sampling, and prototyping of clothing in the spirit of eco-design. The investment in production diversification covers the purchase of fixed assets and specialised software for garment construction. Creating the sampling workshop within the enterprise will allow the creation of at least 4 new jobs, and will also contribute to significant process changes in the enterprise.
Project results
The process change will be a nationwide innovation, thanks to which the Applicant's enterprise will gain the ability to create clothing in line with the idea of sustainable, socially responsible fashion. The elements of the process change will be: digitalisation of the garment construction process, and the creation of technical capacity allowing clothing to be designed in a way that minimises production waste and enables the handling of waste that cannot be avoided.
Another element of the process change will be the introduction of the 6Rs to the enterprise's operations:
- rethink – analysis of possible recycled elements and deadstock (fabric remnants normally destined for incineration),
- recycle – use of recycled garment trims,
- repair – offering customers a repair service for damaged or worn garments,
- refuse – rejecting the fast-fashion model, creating individualised collections, and designing in line with eco-design principles,
- reuse – reusing garment trims at the end of a garment's life cycle.
